You probably think you know this area but this walk will reveal some hidden secrets.
The walk is from Temple Underground Station to Trafalgar Square. Strand is the street which links the City with Westminster. Along it we’ll see a very large map, a closed Underground station, a hidden chapel, some architectural gems in backstreets and the location of the precise point from which all road distances in England are measured.
John King will lead the walk (about two hours). Most of it is on the level but there are some steps.
Dates: Tuesday, 5 March; Wednesday,13 March; Thursday, 21 March
Departure time/Meeting point:
10.15am Underground concourse at Wimbledon Station from where we’ll take the District Line to Temple
