The group has┬ábecome very popular, with numbers rocketing from mid/upper teens, to twenty eight on one March day. The success of the group has been due to the fact that members just turn up on the appropriate day, and are never far from public transport if they wish to leave the walks. The other important factor is the refreshment stop, where we see friendships being formed, and’networking’ taking place.

We sometimes use public transport for linear walks, and seasonally, a ferry. With larger numbers we have both trans- port and refreshment break problems. Therefore, we have decided to cap the group number at 35 being those who have walked in the current membership year. Any other members interested will be wait listed. We will review our list from time to time, and offer places to members on the list. Within our group we have some potential leaders who will take the load off us. It will be good to have a pool of persons willing to take on a few walks when we cannot be there, as we need a minimum of 2 people on duty.
